ADT is without doubt the most recognized provider of home security systems. It comes with being the oldest and most experienced in the game. It has been in operation for decades. Owned by Tyco Holding Corporation, ADT has undisputed reputation and has made its permanent mark in the security industry. With this experience, comes loyal and satisfied customers.

Brinks Home Security ranked among the best in home security providers for over 2 decades. It went as far as winning numerous Consumer digest awards for the services it offered, and also its price points. Where did it begin? It was a product of Brinks, which majored on corporate and armored vehicle security. Hence, to set it apart, the home security services were rebranded. Brinks Home Security became Broadview Home Security.

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

ADT offers a vast range of security services. They even go further than protecting your home from burglars. They include services ranging from flood protection and carbon monoxide monitoring to giving you bracelet and necklace panic buttons. This was much more than what Brinks put on the table. Their prices resonate with people’s budgets, and their sales people are some of the friendliest around (they are trying to make sales, anyway).
Brinks, however, had its points where it stood out. The customer service for Brinks was renowned. Customers were getting a return of their money’s value in customer gratification. ADT, despite being in the business for longer, put less emphasis on customer support. Most complaints on consumer reviews about ADT involve misrepresentation of contractual agreements. For instance, most customers state that they aren’t aware if the 3-year contract duration. However, in all fairness, the fault for this also lies on the customers themselves. If you’re signing a contract, you should, in the very least, know how long it will last.
