Both anti-malware programs have a broad spectrum of cover in terms of operating systems supported. For the windows users, any from Windows XP I to the latest windows 10 can be protected using both MacAfee and Norton. The two also support android systems from the 2.3 version onwards.
For the MacBook users, Norton offers better coverage with compatibility to the last three Mac OS X systems as well as everything after iOS 7. McAfee only covers Mac OS X users. However, McAfee can support Linux and Solaris operating systems which Norton is not able to do.
The two offer protection against viruses, malware and many other threats in the online community. They are also both well known for offering identity and password protection. However, Norton I does a better job at this whether or not you update. Norton also has additional protection features that McAfee doesn’t and these include email support, social network protection as well as chat and text protection.
Both are great by their own right but there is no denying that Norton outshines McAfee in terms of protection services offered. The one thing that the later has over Norton is the user friendliness and the fact that it is more affordable.
In this aspect, Kaspersky is definitely the bigger fish. In addition to the android, windows, Mac OS X and iOS, it supports Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora 14, FreeBSD and CentOS. The only one disadvantage is that it is not compatible with the Windows 8 operating system unlike Norton which is.
Both offer software security protecting you against all forms of online threats. Norton offers addition protection against password breeching, email and IM hacking, network interferance and crashing. Kaspersky on the other hand offers search engine protection as well as online identity protection. It also has parental control features for online monitoring.
Kaspersky is clearly the better option in terms of OS flexibility and variety of services offered. It is, however, the more expensive and difficult to use of the two software security bigwigs.
The two systems basically support the same operating systems including iOS, all windows versions after Windows XP as well as android.
In addition to the basic anti-virus, antispyware and anti-malware protection services, Avast provides online gaming protection, email spam filters and search engine monitoring. The features are present in Norton but with much less emphasis. Avast also offers users a sandbox features which allows safe opening of unknown files.
Both systems are pretty close in terms of quality of support but Norton takes the crown with the parental control features, password and identity protection and its many other features discussed above.
Both Norton and AVG support the same operating systems including all Windows after the XP version as well as the Apple product systems and android-run devices.
AVG offers protection against online threats that may come through internet browsing, emails, online gaming and so much more. Like Norton, it also offers email protection and parental control capabilities.
Both security systems are pretty amazing but AVG is no doubt the better option. Despite similarity in terms of protection services and OS compatibility, AVG is more user friendly especially on smartphones and tablets. Norton is, however, the more affordable option.
