If you are looking for an easy to install, easy to control home security system, the Canary All-in-One Home Security Device is proving to be a very popular choice.
Once you have completed the simple set up, you can control your device from your smartphone. In addition to the security features, the Canary All-In-One Home Security Device can also help you and your family in preventing any related health issues by monitoring the air quality, temperature and humidity in your home.
With a 1080p HD camera and 147 degree wide-angle lens, the Canary provides excellent visual and audio quality. The camera will automatically switch to night vision when low light is detected.
Video recording is activated as soon as motion is detected and the Canary will send a video alert to your phone. The company claims that these are notifications are immediate, however customers have reported it taking up to 20 seconds for them to receive the notification, although this could be more of a phone connectivity issue rather than the security camera.
You can download the free app on your phone. This allows you to easily set the device to one of three modes: armed, disarmed or privacy. This can be done with the simple click of a button.
There is a 90+ dB siren built into the camera. The siren is not automatic but it can be set manually. Because of the false alarms, the decision was taken by the Canary manufacturers, not to have sirens and police notifications to be sent automatically.
Installation of the Canary couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is simply remove the device from the box and place it in a convenient location that gives the wide angled lense a clear field of recording. Connect your device to the Internet and you are up ready to go. There is no need to use additional sensors.
One of the drawbacks of the Canary All-In-One is that there are no mounting holes on the device, and Canary do not currently manufacture mounting devices for it.
The device only works with Android and iOS and is not compatible with Windows phones.
The sensitivity can be adjusted, so if you have pets walking around the home your device will not be triggered by their movement. The Canary is intelligent and the more you use it, the more it learns to differentiate between everyday movements and unusual activity.
In case you are worried about a stranger being able to have access to view your camera, Canary devices have no backdoor or hidden credentials. They use a strong AES-256 bit encryption for all communications between your Canary device, the Canary Cloud, and your smartphone, ensuring total peace of mind.
There are no contracts and the device costs $149 to buy, This includes free secure cloud storage,
The free storage included 12 hours of video footage but you can upgrade to get even more with optional monthly plans.
